Swim Meet 101

Swim meets are fun, but can be intimidating for new swimmers and parents. The following information is to help you understand what is expected at both home and away meets.

Home meets

  • Swimmers are expected to arrive at the pool between 4:30-4:45 pm
  • Swimmers will need to be marked (names and ages written on the right shoulder and events, heat and lane assignments on their arm). If you are not sure how to mark your child, please feel free to ask for help or see the picture below.
  • If you are signed up to set up, please arrive at 4 pm
  • Make sure to pack healthy snacks and LOTS of water.  Food and drinks will be available to purchase at our concessions stand.
  • Warm-Ups will begin for the home team at 5 pm, for the away team at 5:15
  • The meet will start at 5:30 pm
  • If you have volunteered to be a timer or a stroke and turn judge, there will be a brief meeting at 5:15 pm
  • We would love to have as many hands on deck when the meet is over. We encourage you and your children to help clean up.
